Dr Martens- We'll walk you to heaven.

STILL remember the Dr Martens boots which made an impact in the early 90s?
While the company's popularity suffered a dip due to the lack of punk influence during the mid-90s onwards and with its rather staled-design yet pricey boots in this region, UK based Dr Martens were up for an ad-campaign to revive its popularity.
Nevertheless, it back fired as their poster (pic) of Nirvana's former front man the late Kurt Cobain donning its boots, with the tagline 'Dr Martens Forever' at the bottom right corner, received heavy criticism from none other then Cobain's estate holder cum wife Courtney Love.
The company wanted to send the message that their boots 'are made to last' but it gives the impression their boots will 'walk you to heaven'.
Among the other fallen stars in the advert combo are Sid Vicious (Sex Pistol), Joe Strummer (The Clash) and Joey Ramone (The Ramones).
Ironically, Cobain is a well known for wearing Converse shoes- a fashion statement which his Seattle Grunge group made popular in the early 90s.
Dr Martens have pulled out the advert.
p/s: Poster aside, their website is rather daft (as the English put it) and really challenges the eyes of the reader.
