Tengku Abdullah quits
Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah (pic) has resigned from all posts within the FA of Malaysia.
No reason was given by the Pahang prince in releasing his deputy president's post. However more details are expected to be given out by today as his party will be faxing statements to media houses.
Tengku Abdullah has stated his intentions to resign and the pre-mature annoucement has got to do with Malaysia's dissapointing run in the on-going Asian Cup. The co-host team lost 1-5 to China and later 0-5 to Uzbekistan. They will play Iran in their final match.
The nation's best performance thus far is the 2001 KL SEA Games. The team won gold.
With this move, more are expected to join Tengku Abdullah in tendering their resignation letters including general secretary Ibrahim Saad.
The question remains, will they be man enough to do so?
p/s: Khairy Jamaluddin is rumoured to take over FAM, a step closer to realising his dream as the next Sports Minister.
